First Metro Bank a $798 million community bank with 140 employees located in Muscle Shoals, Ala., first became a NXTsoft customer in 2017 when they contracted with NXTsoft for cybersecurity education and awareness through NXTsoft’s TA Educate solution. CEO Rodney Howard realized the importance of implementing a cybersecurity training program to empower his employees in the defense against cyber-attacks.
Howard was familiar with many of the NXTsoft team from engaging with them at past Fintech companies and after evaluating the ThreatAdvice Educate solution found it to be a great fit for First Metro.
When NXTsoft acquired CCMC, Inc. in of August 2019 and rebranded the company’s data connectivity solutions to what is now NXTsoft’s OmniConnect solution, the NXTsoft sales team approached Howard to discuss API opportunities.
Already familiar with NXTsoft’s cybersecurity arm, Howard was impressed with the expertise in API connectivity that NXTsoft now possessed with is Omni platform.
“I knew NXTsoft was a great company to work with based on our experience with ThreatAdvice,” said Howard. “It was natural to explore API opportunities with them because First Metro already had an established relationship and we trusted the company,” he said.
Howard and First Metro contracted with NXTsoft to provide API connectivity between their FIS Bankway core system and their loan origination platform provided by nCino. Because of NXTsoft’s security expertise, Howard feels that First Metro will benefit from the addition of Omni Alert, secure cloud-deployed solution that monitors for the API connection anomalies and suspicious activities.
“We value our relationship with NXTsoft and know that they are providing us with excellent solutions to help us be the best bank that we can be. The entire team is great to work with and very responsive to any requests that we have,” Howard said.
First Metro Bank has over 31 years experiences serving its customers in north Alabama online and throughout its ten locations.
